The Edinburgh International Film Festival announced that six short films created as part of the inaugural NFTS Sean Connery Talent Lab will have their world premieres at the 2025 Festival, running from 14-20 August. Supported by the Sean Connery Foundation and major industry partners including Prime Video and BBC Film, with 70% of fees underwritten by the Sean Connery Foundation, this initiative ensures accessibility for talented individuals regardless of their financial background.

In 2024, the Edinburgh International Film Festival established The Sean Connery Prize for Feature Filmmaking Excellence, a prize of £50,000 given to the makers of a film chosen by audience vote.
