Venus Williams Celebrates Marriage to Andrea Preti with Lavish Five-Day Wedding

Tennis Icon Begins New Chapter

Venus Williams, the seven-time Grand Slam singles champion, has officially married Italian actor and model Andrea Preti in a spectacular five-day celebration in Palm Beach, Florida. The tennis great announced the marriage on Tuesday via social media, marking a joyous new chapter for the 45-year-old sporting legend.

Double Wedding Celebrations

Venus, 45, and Andrea, 37, first said their “I dos” during a small September ceremony in Ischia, Italy, where the couple originally planned on having their larger ceremony, eight months after getting engaged. However, due to legal complications, the couple decided to host a second ceremony. Because Williams is a foreigner in Italy, the paperwork can take about eight months, so they decided to have a second wedding.

After days spent with friends at Venus’ house, on a yacht, playing sports, having dinners, pool parties, and a bridal shower, the couple officially tied the knot in Palm Beach on Friday, December 19. The celebration was made even more special by sister Serena Williams, who organised an extravagant yacht party for guests as part of the wedding festivities.

Romance and Return to Tennis

The couple got engaged on January 31, 2025, in Tuscany. Preti is a Danish-born Italian model and actor who has been a supportive presence throughout Venus’s tennis comeback. After becoming the second-oldest woman to win a tour-level singles match in July, the 45-year-old Williams gave thanks to her fiance, who was in the stands at the DC Open.

The seven-time Grand Slams singles champion plans to play in a 33rd straight season on the WTA Tour, starting in Auckland in January. This remarkable commitment demonstrates that Williams continues to defy expectations both on and off the court, balancing her legendary tennis career with her new married life. The wedding celebration represents not just a union of two people, but the continued support system that has helped Venus maintain her competitive edge well into her mid-forties.
