Alexis Warr: From So You Think You Can Dance Winner to Strictly Come Dancing Success
Rising Star Joins Strictly Come Dancing
In July 2025, Alexis Warr was announced as one of the new professional dancers joining the twenty-third series of Strictly Come Dancing, marking a significant milestone for the American dancer. The 25-year-old made history as the first Latin and ballroom dancer to win So You Think You Can Dance on its seventeenth season, establishing her credentials before crossing the Atlantic to the UK’s premier dance competition.
Impressive Quarter-Final Performance
For her inaugural series, Warr was partnered with social media personality George Clarke, and the duo has been making impressive strides. In week 10, Alexis and George danced a quickstep to “I Get a Kick Out of You,” earning 34 points from the judges, plus an additional 2 bonus points from the spontaneous Instant Dance challenge. Their total points for the series now stand at 75, placing them firmly in fourth position overall as they head towards the competition’s climax.
Versatility Under Pressure
The introduction of the Instant Dance challenge has tested the contestants’ adaptability like never before. The new element required couples to perform with limited preparation, testing their raw skill and composure under intense pressure. During Musicals Week, their Argentine Tango to “The Point of No Return” from Phantom of the Opera impressed judges, with Anton taken aback by George’s intensity and Craig commending the excellent lifts.
Journey from America to Strictly Stardom
Born on 5th June 2000 in Highland, Utah, Warr started training at the Center Stage Performing Arts Studio in Orem when she was six years old. Her impressive résumé includes working with Derek Hough on tour and appearing on America’s Got Talent. Interestingly, the Strictly star previously appeared on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, where she taught reality star Jen Shah a salsa lesson.
Looking Ahead to the Semi-Finals
Alexis Warr and George Clarke have solidified their status as genuine contenders for the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 final, with their combination of technical skill and showmanship under pressure making them a pair to watch closely. As the competition intensifies, their versatility and chemistry could prove decisive in their quest for the coveted Glitterball Trophy. With the semi-finals approaching, fans eagerly anticipate what this dynamic duo will deliver next.
