Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet Celebrates Double Joy: Marriage and Birthday in Kansas City Homecoming

A Heartfelt Homecoming Celebration

Emmy-winning actor Eric Stonestreet has tied the knot with Lindsay Schweitzer, making the announcement on September 9, 2025, which also marks the Modern Family star’s 54th birthday.

The celebration took place at their Kansas City home they built together, a significant move following Stonestreet’s decision to leave Hollywood. The couple’s love story began in 2016 at the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City, and they maintained a long-distance relationship while Stonestreet completed his filming commitments for Modern Family. After the show wrapped in 2020, Stonestreet made the decisive move back to Kansas City.

From Hollywood to Heartland

Last year, Stonestreet opened up about his transition, reflecting on the contrasts between Hollywood and Midwest life. He shared his observations about how different people are in the two regions, noting that his current environment highlights both the positive aspects of the entertainment business and its challenges.

Since Modern Family concluded in 2020, Stonestreet has maintained an active presence in the entertainment industry, diversifying his portfolio with voice acting roles in films like The Secret Life of Pets and appearing in reality competitions such as Domino Masters, which he also produces. He continues to work both in front of and behind the camera, with hints at expanding his involvement in producing and directing.

Community Connection and Future Plans

Beyond his professional achievements, Stonestreet is known for his down-to-earth personality and strong connection to his hometown. He remains a passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan and frequently expresses his hometown pride. Despite his celebrity status, he maintains a relatively private life, focusing on his hobbies, which include cooking and golfing, while prioritizing close friendships and family connections.

The wedding announcement was met with warm congratulations from his former Modern Family co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who humorously commented, “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!”
