Michael McIntyre Expands TV Empire with BBC Deal While Touring Success Continues

BBC Doubles Down on McIntyre’s Entertainment Success
The BBC has demonstrated its continued confidence in Michael McIntyre by commissioning additional series of both ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ and ‘The Wheel’. Production has already begun on the sixth series of The Wheel, with the Big Show’s ninth series set to commence production in July.
The comedian’s television success is evident in the viewing figures, with the latest series of the Big Show averaging an impressive 5.9 million viewers per episode, with a quarter of the audience watching via iPlayer. The Wheel has also proven popular, drawing an average of 5.3 million viewers.
Continued Stage Success
McIntyre is currently amid his ‘Macnificent’ tour, which runs from 2023 to 2025, encompassing performances across the UK, Europe, North America, South Africa, and The United Arab Emirates. While his 2025 touring schedule currently shows limited dates, with confirmed shows in Ireland, fans are advised to stay alert for additional UK performance announcements.
Television Dynasty
The BBC’s head of entertainment has acknowledged McIntyre’s position as ‘Mr Saturday Night on the BBC.’ The shows, produced by Hungry McBear, continue to evolve and improve with each series, becoming ‘firm favourites with the nation on a Saturday night.’ The programmes are praised for delivering a perfect mix of hilarity, entertainment, and emotional moments – exactly what Saturday night entertainment should provide.
McIntyre’s success extends beyond British shores, as he hosts The Wheel for NBC in America, while his previous tours have sold more than four million tickets and broken box-office records worldwide.
