The Great British Bake Off 2025: Fresh Faces and Bold Flavours in the Famous Tent

A Fresh Season Begins
The sixteenth series of The Great British Bake Off premiered on September 2, 2025, with Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding presenting, while Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith return as judges.
Meet the Class of 2025
This year’s dozen contestants represent diverse professions and backgrounds, including hairdressers, scientists, a bridal dress designer, and an ex-powerlifter, all united by their passion for baking.
Among the standout contestants is Aaron, a London resident who combines French patisserie with Caribbean flair. His innovative approach includes experimenting with Asian flavours like miso and yuzu in his mono-portion bakes.
Jessika, another notable contestant, brings extraordinary flair as a gymnastic, roller-skating Drag King. Raised in Cornwall, she creates daring flavor combinations, such as salted mango caramel with cardamom and Jerusalem artichoke caramel with dark chocolate mousse.
International Flavours
The show welcomes Nataliia, who brings traditional Ukrainian recipes learned from her grandmother. She creatively combines classic British bakes with flavours from her heritage, incorporating honey, poppy seeds, and spices. Nataliia moved to the UK with her husband four years ago, and they now reside in East Yorkshire with their family.
Competition Format
Each episode sees the home bakers competing for the title of Star Baker across three rounds. Contestants must showcase their personal baking style in the signature challenge, face a blind judging in the technical round, and demonstrate their creativity in the showstopper – all while hoping to earn the coveted Paul Hollywood handshake.
Viewing Information
The series airs every Tuesday evening at 8 pm on Channel 4 in the UK, while international viewers can catch the show on Netflix, where episodes are released every Friday from September 5.
