Burger King Makes Luxury Wagyu Beef Accessible with New £11 Gourmet Burger

Premium Fast Food Innovation

In an unexpected culinary collaboration, Gordon Ramsay has partnered with Burger King to launch their most premium burger to date – The Wagyu, made with 100% British wagyu beef.

The innovative offering sources its beef from 700 farms across Britain, with Burger King establishing a dedicated supply chain by partnering with producers who cross wagyu cattle with British dairy cows from grass-fed herds.

Gourmet Ingredients and Preparation

The premium burger features a wagyu beef patty that’s flame-grilled and served in a seeded brioche bun, accompanied by a sophisticated combination of toppings including caramelised onions, pink pickled onions, rocket, crispy onions, and caramelised onion mayonnaise. What makes wagyu beef special is its distinctive marbling of fat throughout the meat, which provides a unique nutty, buttery flavour.

Celebrity Endorsement and Marketing

Gordon Ramsay’s involvement marks the first time the high-profile chef has participated in an advertising campaign for a quick-service restaurant outside his own portfolio. While Ramsay didn’t develop the product, he features in a series of TV adverts titled ‘Not Made By Gordon’, showing him attempting to involve himself in the burger’s creation.

Accessibility and Innovation

At £11, the limited edition burger makes the traditionally high-end wagyu beef accessible to the general public. As Ramsay himself notes, the product is significant for making wagyu accessible while celebrating British beef farming. The celebrity chef praised Burger King’s decision to put wagyu on the menu as a “smart move,” emphasizing the importance of innovation and staying ahead of culinary trends.
