Charli XCX’s Evolution: Music Superstar Embraces Hollywood While Plotting New Musical Direction

From Musical Triumph to Silver Screen
Charli XCX’s sixth studio album ‘Brat,’ released in June 2024, has proven to be her most successful work to date, becoming the highest-rated album of 2024 and earning three Grammy Awards, including Best Dance/Electronic Album.
The British pop star is now making significant moves in Hollywood, partnering with A24 for ‘The Moment,’ a film based on her own concept. The project features hyperpop producer A.G. Cook handling the score and includes additional roles in several other films, including a ‘Faces of Death’ remake and ‘The Gallerist’ alongside Jenna Ortega and Natalie Portman.
Musical Evolution and Future Projects
Looking ahead, Charli’s producers have revealed that her next musical project is taking a dramatically different direction, describing it as ‘anti-Brat.’ Recent conversations and musical experiments have been exploring completely opposite territory from her previous work.
The success of ‘Brat’ continues to resonate, remaining in the Billboard Top 40 nearly a year after its release. Her American tour has included four sold-out nights at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with a European tour set to begin.
Unexpected Revival and Personal Milestones
In an interesting turn of events, her 2020 track ‘Party 4 U’ has experienced a remarkable resurgence after going viral on TikTok, leading to the release of a new music video in May 2025. On the personal front, Charli XCX recently celebrated her marriage to George Daniel at Hackney Town Hall in an intimate ceremony attended by family and close friends.
Her continued impact on the music industry is further evidenced by her five BRIT Award nominations, including Album of the Year for ‘BRAT,’ Artist of the Year, Pop Act, Dance Act, and Song of the Year.
