Miley Cyrus’s Triumphant 2025: From Grammy Wins to Groundbreaking Visual Album

A Historic Grammy Achievement
Miley Cyrus has made history at the 2025 Grammy Awards, winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance alongside Beyoncé for their song “II Most Wanted.” The collaboration is particularly significant as Beyoncé became the first Black woman to win a Grammy for a country music song since the Pointer Sisters in 1974.
This victory marks Cyrus’s third Grammy overall, following her first statuette in 2024. Notably, she achieved something her father Billy Ray Cyrus never did – winning a Grammy in the country category, despite his famous hits like “Achy Breaky Heart” and “Romeo.”
Professional Evolution and New Projects
Following her successful 2023 album ‘Endless Summer Vacation,’ which earned her two Grammy Awards including Record of the Year, Cyrus has launched her ninth studio album, ‘Something Beautiful’ (2025), conceived as both a visual album and a musical film.
The visual companion to ‘Something Beautiful’ premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 6, 2025, followed by a one-night-only theatrical release. Billboard has praised the project as a “one of a kind pop opera,” which is now available on Disney+ and Hulu.
Awards Season Success
At the 2025 Oscars, Cyrus made a striking appearance as a presenter, wearing a glittery halter gown by Alexander McQueen with lace gloves. The event marked her first awards show red carpet appearance with boyfriend Maxx Morando.
While she didn’t receive an Oscar nomination for “Beautiful That Way” from ‘The Last Showgirl,’ she did earn nominations at both the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards for Best Song. Cyrus expressed her gratitude for these nominations, acknowledging her collaborators Andrew Wyatt and Lykke Li.
Industry Recognition
In a testament to her enduring influence, Billboard has recognized Cyrus’s impact by ranking her twenty-first on its “Top Artists of the 21st Century” list and ninth on its “Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century” list in 2025. Looking ahead, Cyrus remains optimistic about her future, stating it’s “bittersweet saying goodbye to a year that has been so good to me, but I am looking forward to starting over again.” She acknowledges that while the creative process can be challenging, she believes “the pieces come back together and create something beautiful.”
