System of a Down Storms Back: Historic 2025 Stadium Tour Sells Out in Hours

A Triumphant Return to Stadiums

System of a Down is anchoring stadiums with limited dates and premium support in 2025, demonstrating their cultural impact remains strong despite minimal new releases.

The massive North American tour will begin at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on August 27-28 with special guests KORN, followed by two nights at Soldier Field in Chicago (August 31-September 1) with AVENGED SEVENFOLD, and concluding at Rogers Stadium in Toronto on September 3 and September 5 with DEFTONES.

Unprecedented Demand

The band was shocked when every show sold out within hours of announcement, leading to additional dates being added at each stadium venue. Their enduring popularity is evident in their streaming numbers, with the band currently enjoying around 23 million monthly Spotify listeners and accumulating over 10.9 billion streams in total.

Testing the Waters

While ramping up to stadium-level performances for just six shows might seem challenging, the band has been maintaining their edge by performing one or two shows annually, with intensive two-week rehearsal periods before each performance.

Beyond the Music

System of a Down continues to resonate with audiences through their politically charged lyrics and unpredictable fusion of genres. Their political-aesthetic hybridity and long-activist career make their catalogue particularly relevant in today’s climate.

South American Extension

The band isn’t limiting their 2025 comeback to North America. They will also embark on a seven-show ‘Wake Up! South America’ tour, starting April 24 in Bogota, Colombia at the Estadio Nemésio Camacho El Campin, followed by performances in Peru and other South American venues.
