The Weeknd has released his sixth studio album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ through XO and Republic Records on January 31, 2025, marking what could be his final album under the stage name. The album has already made history, accumulating 58 million streams globally in its first day on Spotify and 302 million streams in its first week, making it the largest streaming debut on the platform of any major album release in 2025.
Record-Breaking Success
In the United States, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, with impressive first-week sales of 490,500 album-equivalent units. This achievement marks The Weeknd’s fifth Billboard 200 chart-topping album and his highest opening week sales by overall units in the country. The album features an impressive lineup of collaborations, including artists such as Anitta, Justice, Travis Scott, Florence and the Machine, Future, Playboi Carti, Giorgio Moroder, and Lana Del Rey.
Expanding Global Presence
The artist is extending his ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ into 2026, with new stadium dates announced across Mexico, Brazil, and Europe. The tour will begin with two nights at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City on April 20, followed by Brazilian dates, and a European leg starting July 10 at Stade de France in Paris, with stops in Milan, Warsaw, London, and concluding in Madrid.
Streaming Dominance
The Weeknd continues to dominate streaming platforms, recently becoming the first artist to have a song reach five billion streams on Spotify with his hit ‘Blinding Lights’. This historic milestone was achieved on August 31. He maintains his position as one of the world’s most streamed artists, having been the first to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with his current monthly listeners standing at an impressive 110.7 million.
