Discord Wrapped Arrives: Platform Launches First-Ever Annual Checkpoint Recap

Discord Joins the Year-End Recap Trend

Discord has launched its first-ever year-in-review experience, “Checkpoints,” inspired by Spotify and Apple Music’s yearly recaps. Discord revealed the new recap, similar to Spotify’s incredibly popular Wrapped feature, on Dec. 4, rolling it out globally for users on desktop and mobile. This marks a significant moment for the gaming-focused communication platform, as it embraces the popular trend of annual user statistics that has captivated social media users worldwide.

What Discord Checkpoint Reveals About Your Activity

It’s a personalized year-in-review that shows you the games you played the most, the friends you talked to the most, and the communities where you spent your time. Discord Checkpoint will let you know which emotes you used the most, which server you hung out in the most, and the people you kept in touch with. Users can view detailed statistics including total messages sent, voice call time, and their most active servers throughout 2024.

It is a compilation of highlights that define your year on the platform without using your messages and their contents. After viewing the recap, Discord issues one of ten unique Checkpoint cards, each paired with a temporary avatar decoration that can be worn until January 15, 2026.

How to Access Your Discord Checkpoint

To access Checkpoint, mobile users need to tap their profile icon and look for the Checkpoint banner. Desktop users will find a small flag icon in the top-right corner of the Discord app. Discord confirmed the rollout is happening over several days. Some users may encounter an “unavailable” message if they’re new users or have insufficient activity data.

Global Discord Statistics and Gaming Trends

Discord shared some global stats as well—League of Legends remained the most-played game for the 16th year straight, with Minecraft, Genshin Impact, and breakthrough hit Marvel Rivals also topping the community charts. These statistics provide valuable insights into gaming community trends and user behaviour across the platform’s massive user base.

Significance for Discord Users

The introduction of Discord Checkpoint represents the platform’s commitment to user engagement and transparency. Users can share their summary cards with friends or keep them private, creating opportunities for social interaction and reflection on their digital community participation throughout the year.
