Alison Hammond Commits to This Morning as Career Reaches New Heights

ITV Secures Hammond’s Future

Alison Hammond has renewed her contract for This Morning, ensuring the beloved presenter will continue to grace British screens throughout 2026. The 50-year-old presenter has been linked with the upcoming vacant hosting slots on Strictly Come Dancing so ITV have moved to lock her down to starring on their flagship daytime programme throughout 2026 and she is “very happy” there.

Strictly Come Dancing Speculation

Last week, it was revealed that Alison is among ten contenders to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing when they exit at the end of the year. Alison is said to be one of 10 stars set to screen test next month alongside other prominent television personalities. However, sources indicate that Alison is content at This Morning and currently has no intention of leaving.

Expanding Television Portfolio

Hammond’s television presence continues to expand beyond This Morning. In January 2025, Alison Hammond will be bringing the Sunshine State to UK screens in her first travelogue series. Florida Unpacked will see the beloved presenter visit Florida with her son Aidan across ten parts for BBC Two. Additionally, the partnership brings Alison Hammond back to screens as the nation’s “Very Godmother”, helping shoppers solve Christmas conundrums in a festive advertising campaign with ITV Daytime.

Royal Connection and Personal Life

The presenter recently made headlines after a beaming Alison explained on Loose Women: “Me and Megs are mates. We’re very good mates.” following a viral moment involving Prince Harry. On the personal front, Alison Hammond has revealed she has moved in with her boyfriend, Russian masseuse David Putman. The Great British Bake Off star, 50, struck up a friendship with Putman, 28, when she was his client in 2023 and went public with their romance on Instagram in April 2024.

Addressing Overexposure Concerns

She turns down 10 things per day, no exaggeration. “It looks like I’m on TV a lot, sure, but I stand out partly because it’s still not the norm to see a Black woman doing this,” Hammond stated in a recent interview, defending her prominent television presence whilst emphasising her careful selection of projects after 22 years in the industry.
