Strictly Come Dancing Enters New Era as 2026 Live Tour Takes Centre Stage

The End of an Iconic Partnership

Following their tear-jerking last live show earlier this month, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman have now bid farewell to Strictly Come Dancing for good, following this year’s pre-recorded Christmas Day special. The star found her TV home in Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC show she presented for 21 years, whilst Claudia joined as co-host in 2014.

The two made history as primetime television’s first female presenting duo when they paired up to co-host the show in 2014. Their departure marks a significant moment for British television, as having two female presenters anchoring the programme demonstrates the importance of who we see in key roles on television.

The 2026 Live Tour: Keeping the Magic Alive

Despite the hosting changes, Strictly Come Dancing continues to captivate audiences with its spectacular live tour. The 2026 Live Tour opens at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on 23 January for the first of 30 scintillating shows around the UK. The final four couples for the hotly anticipated 2026 Strictly Live Tour are announced today: YouTuber, Podcaster, and social media star George Clarke and Alexis Warr; and former professional footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink & Lauren Oakley.

In exciting news for fans, 2023 series finalist Layton Williams will make a sensational return to the dance floor as a special guest, reuniting with professional partner Nikita Kuzmin. The tour features eight couples performing spectacular routines, alongside the legendary Strictly Judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Craig Revel Horwood.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Strictly

As the beloved BBC programme transitions to new presenters, speculation continues about who will take over the iconic roles. Tess revealed: ‘I’m looking forward to doing other TV projects and there are a couple in the pipeline.’ Meanwhile, discussions about the show’s future hosts remain ongoing, with various television personalities being considered for Britain’s most prestigious entertainment presenting role.

The Strictly Live Tour celebrates all the joy of the smash-hit BBC series, showcasing the amazing choreography and fantastic live music that Strictly is synonymous with – providing audiences of all ages up and down the country the opportunity to experience everything they love about the TV show live on stage. With its enduring popularity and commitment to inclusivity, Strictly Come Dancing continues to be a cornerstone of British entertainment, proving that whilst presenters may change, the show’s magic remains eternal.
