The Masked Singer Christmas Special 2025 Returns to ITV This Boxing Day
Festive Fun Returns to British Television
The Masked Singer is unwrapping another Christmas Special this Boxing Day, with four brand new festive characters set to take over the stage, as ITV has confirmed the hit singing show is back for the holidays. The Masked Singer Christmas Special is coming to us on Boxing Day this year, airing on ITV1 and ITVX on Friday December 26, 2025, at 7.30pm. It will be on for 90 minutes, finishing at 9pm. This popular entertainment programme continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of mystery, celebrity culture, and musical performances.
Christmas-Themed Characters and Celebrity Guests
The festive episode will see celebrities disguised as Christmassy characters with creative names, such as Santa’s Sack, Goose A-Laying, Figgy Pudding and Mistletoe. The Masked Singer Christmas Special will see four well-known celebrities compete undercover in elaborate Christmas-themed costumes to keep their true identities hidden with all four famous faces unmasked in one episode. Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan will return to the judging panel, once again tasked with working out who is hiding behind the elaborate outfits. Special guest judges joining the festive episode include pantomime favourite Christopher Biggins and beloved puppet character Basil Brush, as well as Su Pollard and Lesley Joseph.
Behind-the-Scenes Drama and Future Plans
In an unexpected twist, presenter Joel Dommett reportedly made a massive blunder while filming the Christmas special, as the comedian accidentally blurted out the name of a concealed celebrity in a mistletoe costume after their performance. Despite this on-set mishap, the show promises to deliver the same entertaining spectacle that fans have come to expect. The great news is that the Christmas special is just a warm-up, as there is a brand new series of The Masked Singer coming in 2026. They will also all return for the beginning of the new series, which will begin on ITV1 from Saturday, January 3, giving viewers even more masked mayhem to look forward to in the new year.
