BBC’s latest thriller ‘The Guest’ is set to premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on September 1, 2025, starring acclaimed actresses Eve Myles and Gabrielle Creevy.
Plot and Premise
The series follows a compelling narrative where ‘a cleaner becomes captivated by her wealthy employer’s charismatic influence. As their intense friendship grows and secrets emerge, their relationship spirals into a dangerous psychological game where nothing is quite what it seems.’
At its core, the story revolves around the toxic relationship between Fran, a successful business owner, and her employee, Ria. Ria, who has never had the opportunity to consider her future aspirations, takes a cleaning job working for Fran, a seemingly confident and successful woman.

The series is written, created and executive produced by Matthew Barry, as a co-production between BBC Cymru Wales and Quay Street Productions for BBC One. Filming took place in and around Cardiff, Wales, with the production receiving Welsh Government support via Creative Wales.

All four episodes of The Guest will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Monday, September 01, 2025, with episodes airing weekly on BBC One and BBC One Wales each Monday from 9pm.
